Badia a Coltibuono |
Arrival – each of you will be met at the Marseille Airport
and whisked away to the Chateau. Unpack, settle in and explore
the grounds, before we start our week with introductions, and
cocktails. Chef Karin will prepare dinner at the Chateau. |
| |
| Friday,
September 26ths |
| Friday is market day in Puyricard.
We will walk to the market with each person being responsible
for the selection and purchase of one item on our luncheon menu.
Then we return to the Chateau and prepare our first luncheon.
After lunch, we’ll go to the nearby Puyricard chocolate
factory. For those of you familiar with Paris and its incredible
chocolate stores, you may know that the best of these is “Puyricard”…and
it’s practically in our own backyard. |

| Saturday,
September 27th |
| Market Day in Aix-en-Provence,
is as colorful an experience as you can find in Provence. Stroll
through rows of vegetables, herbs, spices and produce, or shop
for antiques, art, and the vibrant fabrics native to Provence.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy at the Chateau. Dinner this
evening will be at the Michelin two-star restaurant, Clos de
la Violette in the heart of Aix-en-Provence. |
| |
| Sunday,
September 28th |
| Please enjoy the day as you wish.
Walk into the near-by village of Puyricard, play tennis, ride
bikes, or read a book in the library or on the terrace. In the
late afternoon, Andre and Marie will teach a cooking class at
the Chateau. |
| |
| Monday,
September 29th |
| Enjoy a stroll through the old
town of Aix-en-Provence. Our guide is Marie Gutton, an art historian
who makes Cezanne and the history of the city come alive. When
we return to our home for the week, Pierre and Jean-Michel Minguella,
owners of the Michelin star Marimar Restaurant in Marseille,
will be waiting to show us how they create their world famous
bouillabaisse. This is a rare treat, and we’re certain
you will enjoy the end result. |
| |
| Tuesday,
September 30th |
Today we travel toward the Mediterranean
to the town of Azur le Cadiere. There you will be charmed and
impressed by master chef Rene Berard, owner of Hotel and Restaurant
Berard. Our class is not at his hotel, but located in his 200
year old Provencal farmhouse adjacent to his very special vegetable
garden. IN the afternoon, we will stop in the town of Cassis,
where we will board our boat for a ride to the Calanques, the
“fijords” of the Mediterranean.
In the evening there will be a light dinner at the Chateau. |
| |
| Wednesday,
October 1st |
We are off to the near-by village
of St. Remy to attend Mas de Cornud’s Ecole de Cuisine.
Our renowned chef/instructor/owner, Nito Carpita, will fascinate
you with her talent in her state of the art teaching kitchen
equipped with 10 individual stations. After our morning lesson,
we will have a challenging game of “boules” to increase
our appetite for lunch. Time and weather permitting, we will
take a “Van Gogh walk” tracing the footsteps of
this great painter, and continue our walk to the nearby ancient
Roman city of Glanum.
Dinner will be in the village of Lourmarin, at the enchanting
Auberge le Feniere, where Chef Reine Sammut will prepare a special
menu just for us. Chef Reine was one of the youngest women to
ever receive a Michelin star. |
| |
| Thursday,
October 2nd |
| Sadly, it is time to say goodbye
until next time. Departures to the airport will begin early
